Applying for Employment

To be considered as an applicant, you must complete the following:

  • Fill out and submit an online application (Click on the "Online Job Application" link to the right). For your convenience, computers are available in the lobby of the District Office.
  • Only COMPLETED and SUBMITTED applications will be considered.
  • Please Note: Phoenix Elementary School District must obtain references from the applicant's current employer and two most recent previous employers; unless the applicant has had only one employer for the previous five years. A minimum of three reference checks are required. Failure to provide current, accurate information will result in an inability to hire.
  • Applications are maintained for one year.
  • The online application system will allow you to upload your resume, letter of interest, recommendation letters, certificates, and transcripts. These files MUST be in either PDF or RTF (Rich Text File) format. For security reasons, Microsoft Word (.doc) files ARE NOT ACCEPTED.

For administrative/exempt positions:

  • Please be sure to upload a letter of interest and an updated resume in your online application.

For certified teaching positions you must also provide:

  • A copy of your current Arizona Teaching Certificate. For information on Arizona Certifications, please see our certification page.
  • You will also need to provide copies of your Arizona fingerprint clearance card, official transcripts and provide two letters of recommendation in which one must be from a current or past employer.

For classified (non-teaching) positions, the following must be provided:

  • A background check: A background check must be completed prior to your start date. Information received from the background check must agree with what is listed on the last page of the application with regard to convictions. If it does not, that would constitute falsifying the application, which could result in not being hired. Once the background check has cleared, you will be contacted regarding your start date. Typically, background clearance takes 1-3 working days.
  • Fingerprint Check: In addition to the background check, a fingerprint check is conducted. There will be a $29.00 charge to the employee. This charge will be deducted from your first pay check.
