Dr. Elora Diaz began serving on the District Governing Board in January 2019. She is Director of Strategic Partnerships & Initiatives at Arizona State University (ASU) with a focus on K-12 education in the Educational Outreach and Student Services Division. Prior to joining ASU in 2018, she was Education Policy Advisor for Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton. She has worked extensively with youth through Opportunities for Youth and as an English Language Arts Teacher in a Title I School. She has also worked as a liaison for Arizona Capitol Connections and as a victim advocate intern for the Arizona Attorney General’s Office. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Justice Studies, a Masters in Secondary Education and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from ASU.
