At Edison, we build readers and leaders! We are a proud Leader in Me school!
We are committed to nurturing the leader in each child and to teaching the whole child habits that will lead to success in life – high school, college, career, citizenship, and family. These habits lead children to set important goals, take responsibility for their own attitude and moods, organize their priorities, listen to others’ opinions, and work positively with groups.
The teachers at Edison are committed to having high expectations. Starting in kindergarten and going up through 8th grade, our students learn to perform at high levels in reading, math, science, and social studies.
We are also committed to giving our students opportunities to become leaders in clubs, sports, and the arts. We have had an award-winning cheerleading program for over ten years (multiple awards from parades and competitions), a girls volleyball team that did not lose a single game between 2010 and 2014 (five undefeated seasons), championships and trophies in softball and soccer, district spelling bee champions, clubs that have travelled to California and the Grand Canyon, and several young artists who have won awards and trips—even a trip to Washington D.C.!
