13 Jun Heard & Garfield Students Compete At SeaPerch
The 2018 International SeaPerch Challenge took place June 1st-3rd at Dartmouth University in Massachusetts. Two of our elementary schools, Garfield and Heard, both competed at the Sea Perch International Robotics Competition.
SeaPerch is an underwater robotics program. They provide resources to teachers and students to build an underwater Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV).
This is Garfield’s second year competing. They qualified for the international competition after placing 2nd in the local meet at Arizona State University. Their goal is to make it back to the international competition in 2020.
This is Heard’s first year competing in SeaPerch. They won the 2018 Si Se Puede Foundation Underwater Robotics Competition.
Si Se Puede Foundation offers after-school tutoring, Lego robotics, youth soccer, and other programs to low-income students.
Congratulations to Heard & Garfield who went to compete in this year’s Sea Perch competition!
