What brought you to teaching children?: I love this profession because I feel I can make a tangible effect in what will happen in our world because I teach our future. I teach them collaboration, communication, flexibility, and to think critically and creativity. This is what gets me up in the morning.
Favorite book, as an adult, and why: THE GIVING TREE. BY: Shel Silverstein. As a parent, I feel this book takes on a new meaning. Definitely, a life-changing book will stay with you forever once read as an adult with kids.
Creative curriculum (something you do to personalize curriculum, annual project…):
I strive to make learning fun beyond just rote learning for all students by including all four learning modalities: visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and tactile. In addition, through Reading and Writing, we focus on big ideas and incorporate interesting projects stemming from social issues and current events.
