- helps students develop programming skills using courses that are a blend of online, self-guided and self-paced activities combined with “unplugged” lessons that require no computers
- The lessons align to CSTA Computer Science Standards , ISTE standards , and reinforce concepts and skills taught in other subject areas by integrating national Math , English Language Arts , and Science standards.
- Students focus on learning about algorithms and programming as well as skills such as pair programming during part 1 of course 1. Future course lessons include debugging, sequencing and loops.
- entire program consists of 4 courses
- introductory work with Dot & Dash coding robots
- students get a sense of how to use the knowledge they are learning through Code.org
- students create the computer code needed to program the Dash and Dot robots to perform tasks
