Governor’s Executive Order to Return Schools to In-Person Learning

Governor’s Executive Order to Return Schools to In-Person Learning

UPDATED: 3/25/2021

Good Evening Phoenix Elementary Families:

The District is aware of Governor Ducey’s Executive Order 2021-04 returning schools to in-person learning, and we will make a good faith effort to comply with the order.  Although we do not yet have answers to many questions, we wanted to share with you what we know at this time:

  • Because teachers need time to transition to their schools and set up their classrooms, on Friday, March 5, all students will participate in self-guided learning and will not connect with their teachers for live lessons.
  • The Governing Board will meet Friday, March 5, in the afternoon to discuss this issue.
  • In preparation for our reopening, parents will choose the learning model that best meets your family’s needs and complete a Learning Options Form by Wednesday, March 10 at 12 noon.  Parents may choose either in-person instruction (which is 5 days at schools), or to remain learning online (which is 5 days live-streamed lessons). Click this link to complete the Learning Options Form.
  • Please be sure to watch for additional information and communication during Spring Break.

We are excited to welcome our students back to school in the near future and we appreciate your patience as we all work together to make our return to school a success.
