Shaw Montessori Music is a classroom for fun and learning. All students have the opportunity to experience music. Kindergarten through second grade have general music, third grade learns the recorder, and fourth through eighth grade take part in one of our strings or band programs. All music courses are structured to help the student learn about music and most importantly, to learn through music. Through creating, instrumental practice, music theory, music history and performances, all students receive a well-rounded music education. Students also learn about commitment, patience, taking risks and how to work in groups. Every day in music is an opportunity to learn and grow as young musicians and as individuals.

“Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything.” –Plato
