Welcome to Our Blog

We are excited to celebrate a huge milestone for Phoenix Elementary School District #1. It’s our 150th Anniversary! The very first class in our district was back in 1871 with teacher Jean Rudolph Darroche and 21 students which was held in the courtroom of the then county courthouse – the Hancock building. Many things have changed since then. Our district now has 15 schools, nearly 6,000 students and thousands of teachers, administrators, nurses, social workers, psychologists, community partners, and families that are dedicated to inspiring our children to succeed. In the next few months, we will share our rich history, upcoming celebrations, and community news. Follow us on social media and check back on this webpage to stay up to date. Thanks for being part of our community and helping us commemorate this historic year!
