Whittier’s “Be The Change Club” is a student created club with a mission to create a bully-free school where everyone is an “up-stander”. The club’s vision is that Whittier is a positive school where every person feels welcome. The “Be The Change Club” meets weekly and welcomes all students who want to learn leadership and make a difference in the school and their community. Students are taught how to recognize the strengths in themselves and in others. Club students are encouraged to stand up for others and make sure everyone is treated with respect and dignity. They are also learning to perform acts of community service. Whittier’s School Resource Officer plays a pivotal role in supporting the club.
